Indiana lost 9 a week for people without health insurance
Nearly nine people each week in Indiana, because they have no health insurance affordable, a new report by Families USA, the national organization for health care consumers.

“Our report shows the inanity of our health coverage system condemns many Hoosiers early death because they do not have the same access to medical care of its policyholders as neighbours,” Ron Pollack , Executive Director of Families USA, said today. “The conclusions are clear, unfortunately, a lack of health coverage is a matter of life and death for many Hoosiers.
“Health insurance is coming really, and how human beings, their health decisions,” said Pollack. “We know that people without insurance often forgo Check-, theatres and other prevention services.”
As a result, he said, is not assured and more adults are diagnosed with a disease like cancer, at an advanced stage in terms of their chance of survival. The Institute of Medicine, is not sure that 25% of adults are more likely to die prematurely as adults with private health insurance.
A recent scientific study has shown that uninsured adults aged 55 to 64 years are more likely to die prematurely. For this group, a lack of health insurance is the third largest cause of death after heart disease and cancer.
The report from the United States Indianapolis represents the families of the three viewpoints on uninsured adults:
* Families USA estimates that nearly nine Hoosiers age die every week due to lack health insurance (about 460 people during the year 2006).
* Between 2000 and 2006, the estimated number of adults aged between 25 and 64 years old, died in Indiana, because they are not covered by health insurance has been almost 3100
* In the United States, in the year 2006, twice as many people in the same age group died of a lack of death, such as health insurance for premeditated murder.
“I believe that the quality of health care should be the right of every American,” US Rep. Baron Hill (ALL-IN), said today. “This report clearly shows that only increasingly difficult for families to work for a good coverage.
“To this end, I have worked with my colleagues in Congress to the creation of the Commission for health care accessible to explore the possibilities of reducing costs for health care in America,” said Hill. “That Commission, rights groups of patients, health professionals, associations, hospitals, providers of medical devices, health insurance, pharmaceutical companies, but also the legislature. I think the government should take the initiative and put together, finally, that De resolve the crisis. ”
“This report reminds us that the lack of health insurance at an affordable price, has real consequences, which are often fatal in humans in our country,” US Rep. Brad Ellsworth (ALL-IN), said today ‘hui. “This is not a Republican problem or a Democratic problem. Providing health insurance for all Americans should be a goal we all share together to achieve.”
In its 2002 report, the Institute of Medicine estimated that 18000 adults and 2000 Germany is dead, because they have no health insurance. This assessment was subsequently amended by the Urban Institute, which reported that at least 22000 adults and 2006 died from a lack of health insurance.
